Both TSC high schools will host a Trades, Industry and Career Expo to highlight the various employment options available to students entering directly into the workforce, as well as those who plan to pursue post-secondary education. The Harrison High School event will be April 17, and the McCutcheon High School event will take place on April 18. The focus is on the in-demand skilled trades positions, but the Expo will also include local manufacturing and other businesses within the Greater Lafayette Area.
This is an opportunity for students to learn about local business and the entry-level positions available to them after graduation, as well as employment growth opportunities within each business. The Tippecanoe School Corporation will participate in the event to share various positions that are needed within the corporation, both those requiring post-secondary education qualifications, and those that do not. Additionally, Greater Lafayette Commerce will organize a "Greater Lafayette Signing Day" event in May for any student who may interview and obtain employment after the high school Trades, Industry and Career Expo events.
