The Tippecanoe School Corporation has selected Cory Runkle as a new assistant principal at Harrison High School.
Cory Runkle is excited about the opportunity to serve in administration at Harrison where he's been a social studies teacher for three years. He replaces Josh Roadruck who accepted a position with Purdue University. Runkle has several years of teaching and coaching experience and has a bachelor's degree from Ball State University.
"I am excited to transition Mr. Runkle from the classroom to the administrative team at Harrison," says Principal Cory Marshall. "His abilities to work with our students have been proven throughout his years in the classroom. He is eager to accept this new professional challenge, and he will be a great fit for our team and our school."
In his new role as assistant principal, Runkle will oversee daily school schedules and operations, conduct teacher evaluations, work with student attendance and discipline, assist with the school safety plan, and organize and supervise student extracurricular events. He will provide support and leadership to the Harrison student body of approximately 1,850 and more than 150 staff members.
Runkle is looking forward to working with more students and staff in his new role. "As a teacher and coach, I always hoped to provide leadership that would create great experiences for our students and that would help guide them to achieve their goals. I hope to continue that and make a positive impact on even more students as an assistant principal," says Runkle.
