The Tippecanoe School Corporation has named two new administrators in preparation for the new school year.
Dr. Jodi Day, who has served as the principal of Battle Ground Middle School for the last several years, will move into the position of Director of Student Services. She replaces Dr. BeAnn Younker, who will lead the SEEDS teacher mentoring program when Kathy Nimmer retires at the end of the year. Day has a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, master’s degree from Oakland City University and a doctorate degree from Purdue University.
“Dr. Day has done a tremendous job leading Battle Ground Middle School for the last eight years,” says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. “Based on her wealth of educational leadership experience, she is going to be an excellent fit for this position.”
As Director of Student Services, Day will coordinate state-mandated testing, administer grants and oversee various prevention and intervention services for students and their families.
“It is with great excitement that I am transitioning to this new role as Director of Student Services,” says Dr. Day. “I look forward to fostering an environment where every student's needs are met, and their potential is nurtured to the fullest extent.”
Day’s appointment is effective August 1.
Dr. Laurie Rinehart returns to the TSC after serving in the Lafayette School Corporation, most recently as an assistant superintendent for secondary education. She previously served as an assistant principal at McCutcheon High School and Wea Ridge Middle School and has 10 years of teaching experience mostly in a special education classroom.
“Dr. Rinehart has an outstanding record of educational leadership skills,” says Dr. Hanback. “We’re thrilled that someone with Dr. Rinehart’s rich experiences and passion for student learning is returning to the TSC team as principal of Battle Ground Middle School.”
“It is truly an honor to join such a dedicated and talented team of educators, and I am eager to work alongside the staff, students, and families to provide the best possible education for the students at Battleground Middle School,” says Rinehart. “I believe in the power of teamwork and open communication, and I am committed to creating a culture of trust and mutual respect. I am excited to return to working with students and teachers every day.”
Rinehart’s appointment is effective August 1.
