GLCA team finds victory lane

It was a new track record when the checker flag dropped at the Purdue Grand Prix track for the evGrandPrix Season Championship. Greater Lafayette Career Academy (GLCA) student Jocelyn Reyes crossed the finish line to beat the old record by more than a second. In the closest margin of victory ever was another GLCA teammate, Caleb Milligan.

“It was a very special day,” says GLCA Motorsports Instructor Craig Locker. “Greater Racing took first and second in the Electric Karting World Finals, an accomplishment we had never reached before.” The field included 28 teams from across the country.

Locker says teammates Sergio Gaeta, Chris Hernandez, Ethan Richards, Jordan Mark, Connor McDowell and Jase Timmons helped the team capture the Series World Championship, as well by placing first in their STEM Innovation report and second in their Community Outreach presentation.
