A whale of a lesson for third graders
Sue Scott
Third graders at Burnett Creek Elementary School had a whale of a time exploring the Whalemobile—an inflatable life-sized humpback whale. Thanks to a grant from the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County, teacher Debbie Beckett brought this unique experience to her students.
Check out this video where Beckett shares that the Whalemobile instructor is one of her former students, Bailey Ulrich. Ulrich is a marine science and conservation educator with the Whalemobile program. You'll also hear reactions from students Nova Tison and Juan Jimenez Cardenas as they describe what it was like inside the massive marine mammal.
